Our team is made up of certified skating coaches with years of ice skating and competitive skating experience. Together, the team makes sure that our skaters not only learn in a positive training environment but also have fun!
Kevin Bursey
Director of Programs
Kevin has been a skating coach and a club director for over 30 years. Some of his key roles he has held in the past include National Performance Director with the UK National Ice-Skating Association, Director of Programs at Connaught Skating Club, Senior Staff member at the BC Centre of Excellence and of course he was the High-Performance Manager at the Sungod Skating Club prior to his appointment as Director of Programs in 2015.
Kevin has coached skaters from grassroots through to participation in World Championship level competition. He was a member of the British Olympic Association’s Coaching Commission in the lead up to the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City.
Kevin is also a published author with Carlton Books when he wrote the book Ice-Stars back in 1999.

Constanze Paulinus
High Performance Manager
Constanze was an elite athlete for 20 years before becoming a full time coach. In her career as a competitive skater, Constanze was a 2-time National Champion in Great Britain and was a senior national medalist in Germany. She represented Germany internationally competing in various international events and ISU Grand Prix Championships. She was rewarded Female Athlete of the Year in 2008 in recognition of achieving excellence in her sport.
As a coach, Constanze is proud to highlight that some of her athletes have competed at Senior & Junior ISU Grand Prix events, Junior World Championships, Four Continents Championships and the World Figure Skating Championships. Constanze has a vast resume of educational achievements a Master of Arts Degree from the Humboldt University in Berlin, a certification in Sports Psychology for High Performance Sport and a German national coaching degree for elite figure skating.

Hana Haraga
Head of Development
Hana was appointed as the Head of Development with the Sungod Skating Club in April 2021. This role sees her working alongside the Director of Programs with the management and delivery of the various development programs within the club including the Talent Identification Program out of CANSKATE, our Academy Programs 1 - 3 and the StarSkate programs from Star 1 to Gold levels.
Hana also works with the high-performance athletes and co-ordinates and runs various events and club activities including workshops, seminars, simulations and promotional events. She has been the Creative Director for the past 3 Ice Shows which the club produces on a biannual basis.
Hana has been involved with the sport and our club since she was 5 years old and has been coaching for the past 9 years. She has attained her Gold level in Skills, Interpretive and Freeskate with Skate Canada and competed to provincial level in BC.

Chelsea Ivanich
Senior Coaching Staff
Club Administrator
Chelsea has been coaching since 2011. She loves to work with all levels of skater, from Canskate to Senior, to help them achieve their goals in sport and learn life-long skills. As a skater, she competed for the Sungod Skating Club at many provincial championships, up to the Junior competitive level. She completed her Gold Test in Freeskate, Ice Dance, Skills, and Interpretive Categories and has training in RAD ballet, tap, lyrical, and jazz dance styles. Chelsea’s vast dance background makes her a huge asset to the choreography component of the coaching team at Sungod. Chelsea also works as the Sungod Skating Club Administrator.

Austin Ma

CANSKATE Co-ordinator
Austin began his coaching career with the Coquitlam Skating Club back in 2015. He has been coaching with Sungod for the past 3 years first in the CANSKATE program and now working with some of the StarSkate level skaters.
As an athlete Austin represented British Columbia and competed at the national level. His passion for jumping as an athlete has transitioned over to his role as a coach whereby he enjoys nothing more than securing sound technique for the skaters he works with. He is also the club’s current Jump Harness Specialist and assists the coaching staff with this inclusion in the skaters’ skill development.

Sabrena Boyal
Senior Coaching Staff
Sabrena began her skating career at Sungod in the learn to skate program, CANSKATE and from there she progressed through the levels ending with the senior/elite level. Throughout her Journey as a skater, she found her passion in the artistic side of the sport and completed her Bronze, Silver and Gold test in interpretive. Sabrena has been coaching for the past 6 years all of those with the Sungod Skating Club. She is a member of the club’s full-time senior coaching staff and assists in the organization of many club activities and events for the members.
Aside from coaching, Sabrena is currently enrolled in post-secondary at Kwantlen Polytechnic University where she is to complete her BA in Anthropology, and counselling psychology.
