Assistant to the Director of Programs
Lani has been coaching for almost 30 years, and represented the Sungod Skating Club throughout her entire competitive career. Her accomplishments as an amateur include the 1985 BC Sectional Senior Ladies Champion as well as the 1983 Canada Winter Games Bronze medalist, as well as numerous championship medals at all competitive levels. She is a National Coach – Trained (formerly NCCP level 2 Certified, with Level 3 Technical and Theory). Lani has worked with and trained skaters from beginner up to the Senior competitive level, and has full knowledge and experience of the LTAD program. Her goal is to provide a positive training environment for all skaters, and to guide, encourage, and support them along the way. Lani is very proud to be part of the Sungod Skating Club coaching team.
Chelsea is an Level 1 NCCP certified coach, working towards completing her Level 2. As a skater, she competed with the Sungod skating club herself, up to the Junior competitive level. She passed her Gold tests in the Freeskate, Dance, Skills, and Interpretive Categories and also completed her RAD grade 8 ballet with the Panorama school of dance. She as well has training in tap, jazz, and lyrical dance styles.
Jacqueline Chan is an NCCP Primary StarSkate Trained coach. She skated at Sungod Skating Club, and competed in the Senior level. She has passed her Gold test in Freeskate, and Junior Silver test in Dance. Apart from coaching, Jacqueline is currently in school at Langara studying in the field of Kinesiology.
Director of Programs
Kevin has been a skating coach and a club director for 30 years. Some of the key roles he has held in the past include: National Performance Director for the UK National Ice Skating Association, Director of programs at Connaught SC, Senior Staff member at BC Centre of Excellence and of course High Performance manager at Sungod SC. More recently, Kevin was Director of Operations at Coquitlam Skating Club. Kevin has coached skaters from grass roots through to World Championship level competition. He was a member of the British Olympic Association’s Coaching Commission in the lead up to the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. Kevin is fully certified in Canada at NCCP level 3 and has his NCCP Level 4 in the UK.
Jeff Trott recently came to us from Skate Oakville, home of master coach Michelle Leigh, a Level 5 certiﬁed master technician as well as the base coach to Canada’s Senior Ladies Canadian, Alaine Chartrand. Currently, jeff has his N.C.C.P - Level 3 Theory, and Technical “Trained” status as well as his N.C.C.P. Level 2 Certiﬁed coaching Certiﬁcations. Jeff has claimed podium medals at not only the Canadian National Figure Skating Championships but at the Canada Winter Games as well. Before moving here to B.C this fall, he single handedly developed, designed and Directed not only the only “Theatre on Ice” program in the entire country but the most comprehensive off ice program as well. Jeff is uniquely qualiﬁed because not only was he a Jr. National Team member but he also has three Nationally Accredited Certiﬁcations in Group Exercise Instruction and Personal Training. He has his Gold Tests in Both Singles and Interpretative skating as well as a Senior singles and Novice Pair’s Tests.

Hana developed a love for the sport of Figure Skating at the age of 5. She has had so many great opportunities from Figure Skating, being invited to numerous Figure Skating Camps, part of the Regional Select Team, competing at Sections and making the Provincial finals on numerous occasions. Hana has completed her Gold Level Test in Skills, Interpretive and FreeSkate. Hana was drawn to the world of coaching to help skaters develop new skills, progress in the sport while maintaining a love for the sport of skating. She loves being on ice and gets so much reward when a skater achieves a new skill. Hana is an organized, reliable and hard-working coach for all level skaters. Hana is currently a Level 1 NCCP certified coach, working towards completing her Level 2.
